is back with her first solo EP, Press Play, which dropped at midnight Friday in Korea through her label LLOUD and RCA Records. Yonhap reported it as her first solo EP and her first new release in one year and eight months. The six-track project arrives with a music video for its lead track Tarantino, so the fans who have been waiting have something to press play on right away.

The tracklist is SaWaDiKa, V12, Cobra, Tarantino, Cut U Off and Sweat. Complex confirmed the same six songs and listed LISA as the only billed artist on all of them, so there are no featured guests on the official credits so far. Yonhap calls Tarantino the lead track, while Complex describes SaWaDiKa as the lead single. Both outlets agree SaWaDiKa came out first, in September, and that it is the song that opened this era.

SaWaDiKa did more than warm up the EP. It debuted at No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100 shortly after its release, and Yonhap reported it as the highest-charting song from the artist. Tempo also reported that it reached No. 23 on the Billboard Global 200. That kind of chart start gave the EP a lot of attention before the full project even dropped.

The video for Tarantino leans into spy-action. According to Billboard, as reported by Tempo, it was directed by James Mackel and follows LISA through a hotel full of villains while she tries to get a letter to her favorite director. UPI described the same plot, with the video ending on Quentin Tarantino receiving the letter while he works on a script starring her. The song’s title is a nod to that storyline, and the video is a mini movie in its own right.

Press Play is framed around her own story. Complex reports that LISA told The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon the EP follows her journey from her roots in Thailand to where she is now. In her words, the songs are like a movie, and you just press play. That idea shows up in the way the tracks flow together, and in the Thai touches that run through the project.

Her solo path started in 2021 with the single Lalisa, released September 10 of that year. She followed it with the album Alter Ego in February 2025, which reached No. 7 on the all-genre Billboard 200, according to Tempo. Press Play picks up from there, and it comes after she won Best Pop at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards for Dream, a track from Alter Ego. Yonhap and Tempo both reported that she became the first Asian solo artist to win that category.

The label side matters too. LISA launched her own company, LLOUD, in 2024, according to GMA News and Complex. Complex says the RCA partnership gives her ownership of her solo recordings, which is a big shift from the group setup she has been part of with BLACKPINK. That independence is part of the story behind this EP.

Early coverage from Yonhap, UPI, Soompi and Tempo has focused on the video, the chart start of SaWaDiKa and the award win, so the EP is being talked about as a full project rather than a single. Soompi described the Tarantino video as suave and stylish, and called it a cinematic comeback.

Live shows are next. Complex reports that LISA’s first Las Vegas residency, Viva La Lisa, opens at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in November. The original four shows sold out in under ten minutes, and Caesars added two more dates, bringing it to a six-night run on November 12, 13, 14, 27, 28 and 29. Complex, citing Caesars, says she is the first K-pop artist to hold a Las Vegas residency.

What is still unconfirmed is the full credits list. Complex says complete vocal and personnel credits for the EP had not been confirmed when it wrote about the release, so those details should be checked against official credits once they are published. Until then, the safest read is the tracklist, the release date and the video, all of which have multiple sources behind them.

If you are new to LISA’s solo work, start with SaWaDiKa for the rap-led side, then Tarantino for the cinematic video, and then the full EP from track one. Press Play is built to be heard in order, which is exactly what LISA is asking listeners to do.
